Biological age—the real story behind your health

While chronological age measures the years you’ve lived, biological age reflects how efficiently your body is aging based on key biomarkers and influenced by factors such as inflammation, metabolic function, hormones, and cardiovascular health.

START WITH A LAB

“Fantastic company and service! I got my comprehensive lab panel done and reviewed with a Joi provider. I have been using the monthly supplement packs curated specifically for me, and my biomarkers have improved over six months. I recommend this to everyone who isn’t feeling their best to help locate the root cause and make changes.”

Have questions? We’re here to help

To ensure the most accurate results, follow these preparation guidelines:

  • Fast for 12 hours before your test (water is fine, but avoid food, coffee, and other beverages).
  • Avoid intense exercise the night before, as it can temporarily affect certain biomarkers.
  • Schedule your test in the morning, as hormone levels are typically most stable at this time.

Following these steps will help ensure reliable and accurate lab results.

Lab processing times vary, but most results are available within 7-14 days. Once your results are ready, you will receive a notification and can access them through your patient portal. You will then receive an email to schedule a lab review with one of our providers, who will guide you through your results and next steps.

We recommend holding off on supplements the morning of your blood draw unless otherwise instructed. Prescription medications should be taken as directed by your provider.

If you’re on HRT or thyroid medication, it’s best to complete your blood draw right before your next scheduled dose to get the most accurate baseline levels.

If you’re still menstruating, testing hormones on days 19–21 of your cycle (with day 1 being the first day of your period) can be helpful, as this is when progesterone typically peaks. However, lab results remain valuable at any point in your cycle—your provider will interpret them in the context of your symptoms and overall cycle pattern.

You can find your biological age in your patient portal once your lab results have been processed. If you need assistance accessing your results, please reach out to our support team at info@joiandblokes.com.

Our Joi + Blokes Coaches are here to support you and be a listening ear during your Joi/Blokes experience. Consider them your health journey BFF’s who can help you navigate your results and support you along the way! We know how challenging (and oftentimes isolating) health issues can be, and we want you to know you’re not alone on this path. Our coaches can provide guidance, general information, and most importantly, be your liaison when you need answers from your provider.

Our health coaches’ experience and expertise range from nurses, registered dietitians, personal trainers, naturopathic doctors to navy seals.

Please note: Health Coaches are not doctors and cannot prescribe, provide specific medical advice or diagnose you with any medical conditions.

Joi + Blokes health coaches are here to:

  • Listen to your experience – you are not alone!
  • Help you understand your results
  • Provide information on therapies we offer that may help you meet your goals
  • Be your direct contact for any questions you have during your journey, on your order, or for your provider – they are here to help!

All prescription products require a medical consultation with a licensed provider, either asynchronously or synchronously, who will determine if a prescription is appropriate. If not deemed appropriate, you will be immediately refunded.

At Joi+ Blokes, we take a holistic, preventative approach to care, which means many advanced treatments and lab tests are not typically covered by insurance. However, we do offer insurance-pay options for certain prescriptions:

  • Women’s health medications like estrogen and progesterone can be sent to your local pharmacy, where you may use your insurance benefits.
  • Thyroid medications will be sent to your local pharmacy, allowing you to utilize your insurance coverage.
  • FDA-approved GLP-1/GIP medications for weight loss and type 2 diabetes, including Ozempic, Wegovy, Zepbound, and Mounjaro, may also be eligible for coverage.

While we assist with prior authorizations and prescription submissions, we do not bill insurance directly. We recommend checking with your insurance provider for specific coverage details.

Yes! You can use your HSA or FSA funds to cover eligible purchases. We are happy to provide a detailed receipt and a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) from your provider. You can then submit these documents to your HSA/FSA account for potential reimbursement. Since coverage varies by plan, we recommend checking with your provider to confirm eligibility.

Email us at info@joiandblokes.com with any more questions.
